The Oasis XL was designed by recommendations made by aficionados to solve the humidification problems everyone experienced using passive sponge type devices. It is a self-contained unit made up of two pieces, the upper control unit and the lower replaceable distilled water cartridge. The two units slip and lock on each other and once you plug it in, the unit is ready to operate. Now a battery pack (optional) slips and locks onto the water cartridge. Unplug the AC power and plug in the battery pack for operation anywhere.
